Make it tangible
what debts do
with people
‘Laat mensen met schulden niet met hun leven betalen' (roughly translated as ‘Don’t let people in debt pay with their lives’). This is the call to action made by 113 Zelfmoorpreventie (suicide prevention) in this LinkedIn campaign, which shows how even ‘small’ financial problems can have a huge impact.
The campaign provides an insight into the experience of people with debts and makes it tangible what happens to them when, for example, a bill lands on their doorstep. This triggers the target audience to learn more about what can be done by outsiders to help these people. For instance, by attending training sessions offered by 113. The campaign is run in different phases, continuously monitored, and adjusted when necessary.

Insight.
Suicide prevention is something you can learn
People with debts are 2.5 times more likely to die by suicide. Employees in the socio-economic sector and financial services regularly come across these people. But they often do not have the knowledge and skills to recognize signals of suicidal thoughts and to start a conversation to prevent worse.
